1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using SkillConnect (“the Platform”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
2. Platform Description
SkillConnect is an intermediary marketplace that connects seekers of trade services with skilled workers across Karnataka, India. We do not directly employ workers and are not a party to any service agreement between seekers and workers.
3. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password.
- You must provide accurate information. False information may result in account suspension.
- One person may hold only one account per role (worker or seeker).
4. Worker Obligations
- Workers must provide accurate information about their trade, experience, and certifications.
- Workers are responsible for the quality of work they perform.
- Workers must hold any trade licences required by law for the services they offer.
- Workers agree that SkillConnect may display their public profile (excluding contact details) to platform visitors.
- Workers must update their availability status accurately.
5. Seeker Obligations
- Seekers must provide accurate job descriptions and contact information.
- Seekers agree to pay the worker directly at the agreed rate upon job completion.
- Seekers must not share worker contact details obtained through the platform with third parties.
- Seekers agree to provide honest feedback after job completion.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
- Attempt to circumvent the platform to make direct, off-platform arrangements to avoid payments or accountability.
- Scrape, copy, or republish platform data without written permission.
7. Ratings and Feedback
Seekers may rate workers after job completion. Ratings must reflect genuine experience. We reserve the right to remove feedback that is false, abusive, or violates these terms. Worker ratings are averages of submitted reviews and may change over time.
8. Liability Limitation
SkillConnect is a marketplace intermediary. We are not liable for:
- The quality of work performed by workers.
- Disputes between seekers and workers regarding payment or service quality.
- Any damage to property arising from services arranged through the platform.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed ₹1,000 (one thousand rupees).
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Registered users will be notified by email of material changes. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karnataka, India.
