SkillConnect (“we”, “our”, “us”) is an online marketplace connecting skilled trade workers with job seekers across Karnataka, India. Our platform is operated by RStackGro and is accessible at skillforgeconnect.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a secure hash).
• Worker profile: Trade, bio, location, city, area, experience, skills, certifications, and photo.
• Job request information: Service description, location, preferred date, and contact details provided by seekers.
• Usage data: Pages visited, actions taken, and timestamps — used only for platform improvement.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To match job seekers with suitable skilled workers in their area.
• To verify worker profiles and display them to potential customers.
• To enable project managers to coordinate job assignments.
• To send account-related emails (registration, password reset).
• To improve platform features and user experience.

4. Information Sharing

We share your information only as follows:

• Worker public profiles (trade, location, bio, skills, certifications) are visible to all visitors. Phone and email are never shown on public profiles.
• Seeker contact details are shared only with assigned workers and project managers, only after a job has been accepted.
• Project Managers can view worker contact details for coordination purposes.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Data Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (a one-way algorithm) and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our servers are hosted on Hostinger KVM infrastructure in India. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is completely risk-free.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes.

8. Cookies & Analytics

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We also use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the platform — for example, which pages are viewed and which actions (such as sign-up or posting a job request) are completed. These tools may set cookies and collect usage data such as pages visited, device/browser type, and approximate location. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them will not prevent you from using the platform.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
